TNT’s blockbuster series The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles continued their terrific summer run by ranking as the Top 2 scripted programs last week on basic cable. Rizzoli & Isles scored an outstanding 8.8 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, its biggest L+3 audience for the season-to-date. Among key demos, Rizzoli & Isles chalked up 2.4 million adults 18-49 and 3.3 million adults 25-54.

TNT’s powerful performance in time-shifted viewing provided the network’s original dramas with major gains. The Aug. 22 episode of Rizzoli & Isles grew to 8.9 million viewers in Live + 7, with 2.5 million adults 18-49 and 3.1 million adults 25-54.
