"Rizzoli & Isles" season 2 spoilers: Korsak's ex-wife!

TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles will shed light on Det. Vince Korsak’s past by introducing viewers to one of the top cop’s three (!) ex-wives — and Lolita Davidovich (Blaze) has scored the plum gig.

TVLine has learned exclusively that in a December episode titled “Seventeen Ain’t So Sweet,” Davidovich will guest-star as Melody Patterson, the former Mrs. whose son Vince raised for 10 years. What brings her back into his orbit — romantic pining? A wish to reflect on old times? How about… her hope that her former hubby will invest some coin in her new business. Hmm.

Rizzoli & Isles executive producer Janet Tamaro says of Davidovich’s casting, “I have always wanted to work with Lolita, and tailored this role for her.”

In a recent interview (with his hometown paper, the Santonio Express-News), McGill shared his excitement over the chance to explore Korsak’s background, saying, “You’ll get to know much more about who the guy is…. [T]he specter of one of [his ex-wives] will be returning.”

In addition to her film resume, Davidovich’s TV credits include HBO’s Cinema Verite, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The L Word.

Rizzoli & Isles (Mondays at 10/9c) airs its summer finale on Sept. 12, then resumes Season 2 in late November.
