Daemon's TV advance review of "Rizzoli & Isles" season 2, episode 1!

RIZZOLI & ISLES “We Don’t Need Another Hero” Season 2 Episode 1 – Okay so let me ask this up front – saying that Rizzoli survives her gunshot wound from the season one finale is not a spoiler, right? I mean after all, Angie Harmon is one of the two stars of the show. No one really thought she was going to die, did they? No? Okay good, because if I had to keep that fact hidden, this was gonna be one really hard “spoiler-free” review to write.

This season two opener starts up three months after the violence that occurred in the siege and though Rizzoli is mostly recovered physically, she’s still got a ways to go mentally. Everyone around her has labeled her as a hero, but she’s not comfortable with the title at all and would like nothing more than to get the attention off of herself and onto anyone else. Plus, as if that wasn’t enough, she’s also got some pretty major family issues going on as well.

Basically Rizzoli is kind of having a rough time of it, but luckily fate decides that the best thing for her is to get back to work. Though she’s not cleared for duty yet, a case dumps itself right into her lap and she (along with an old friend who shows up), gets right to work on it.

Overall I liked this season two premiere. You’d think after all that happened in last year’s finale that they’d just want to give us a fairly quiet episode but there were actually some tense moments that, while not quite on par with that episode, still had me on the edge of my seat.
